The Club Excelsior 2 is a long established hotel timeshare complex in the busy resort of Playa del Ingles that is best suited to German speaking families and couples. Its light and breezy, open apartments boast a balcony and kitchen and it is near to one of the top beaches in the Canaries.

Although located right in the centre of the Playa Del Ingles/Maspalomas area, Club Excelsior 2 enjoys a quiet setting that is good for both families with young kids as well as for couples looking for peace. It is also close to the trappings of this fun resort town—bars, eateries and shops—and receives positive reviews.

There are one and two bedroom timeshare units at Club Excelsior—the latter with a double bed and twin beds—and both types feature a sofa bed in the lounge. The living area is open-plan and spacious, consisting of lounge, dining spot and kitchen, which is fully fitted out. All apartments boast a balcony (terrace for ground floor units), telephone and TV, microwave and coffee maker, along with linen and maid service.

The outdoor pool is a big hit, being one of the largest swimming pools in this part of Playa del Ingles with a wide open terrace area for unhindered sunbathing. Playa del Ingles’ beach is also close at hand, as are the expansive dunes, which are fabulous for breezy walks and for those with kids.

A number of activities can be enjoyed in this beach resort town, including golf and horseback riding, along with windsurfing and jet-skiing at the beach. The beach proper has sand imported from the Sahara, so is truly golden. Farther along the coast are the beaches at San Agustin and Acapulco.

There are many restaurants, cafés and bars near to Club Excelsior 2—it is right by a main thoroughfare—and there are plenty of lively clubs available for the party animal, while the Yumbo Centrum mall will keep shoppers happy.

Exploring Gran Canaria by car and on foot is fabulous, with much of the island given over to UNESCO World Heritage Biosphere status—think high mountains and stark volcanic features.

Getting in is by way of Gran Canaria Airport; an international facility on the east coast of the island that receives flights from all over the region. Buses run to Playa del Ingles, along Avda Tirajana in front of Club Excelsior 2, or you can organise a shuttle bus or go by tax or hire car in about 30 minutes.
